Hyping .NET Didn't Work

from the what-was-he-thinking? dept

Yesterday we posted the Salon article that was pure .Net hype, which was a bit surprising (knowing Salon’s usual pro-Linux stance). I don’t normally post things like letters to the editor, but the collection of letters that Salon received shows how few people bought into the hype. Most of them are shocked that Salon published the piece, and didn’t inclue some sort of notice that this was more or less an advertisement for Microsoft. It would be interesting to see if Salon ever explains what they were thinking when they published that piece (other than possibly drawing extra attention to themselves for publishing such a dreadful puff article).
