When Do We Lose Our Attention Rights

from the predicting-the-future dept

A well done story over at FutureFeedForward where they’ve posted a “news article” from 2006 talking about a legal case from the entertainment industry that gives them rights to consumers’ attention. While it may sound silly, there’s quite a bit of truth in the “scenario”. They did a good job copying the exact style of the news articles surrounding current entertainment industry lawsuits – and include some great RIAA quotes complaining about how as consumers turn their attention away from ads, artists are losing money. The article also talks about a company that is working on an attention management solution that makes sure that consumers are really paying attention to ads. It’s almost as funny as it is scary.
