Midshipmen Disciplined Over Downloads

from the how-dare-you-listen-to-music dept

A bunch of Naval Academy students who had been caught by the RIAA (gasp!) downloading and sharing music have been

disciplined by the Academy. The writers sound upset that the students weren’t expelled for this violation. They also point out that the Academy views this action as a “conduct offense” as opposed to an “honor offense”. While the Washington Post article seems to believe the students weren’t punished enough, the Register takes the opposite opinion and explains why they think the students were punished too harshly.
