Missouri, South Dakota May Kill Merrill Lynch Deal
from the good-for-them dept
It seems that the agreement Merrill Lynch signed with the state of New York may be contingent on getting approval from attorney generals throughout the United States – and there’s some indication that at least two states (Missouri and South Dakota) aren’t happy that none of the money is going to repay people who followed Merrill’s advice. We’ve already complained about the nature of the deal, so this could be interesting. Eliot Spitzer, who set the whole thing up from New York, says that they don’t need those states’ approval to finalize the deal.
