How Intellectual Property Laws Undermine Cyber-Security

With all of the debates concerning privacy vs. security online, here’s an argument saying that all those ridiculous intellectual property laws are doing more to undermine cyber-security than anything else. The article says that the DMCA and Berman’s Hollywood hacking bill make it incredibly difficult to build and test security technologies for the internet, thereby undermining them. If Congress were really serious about online security, they would stop passing these ridiculous laws that don’t even protect the intellectual property they were supposed to.
