Microsoft May Buy Macromedia?

from the keep-on-buying dept

The latest rumor going around is that Microsoft is hungering for Macromedia so they can own Flash. It makes sense, since they don’t offer any real competing product for so-called “rich media”. The article makes it sound like a vast conspiracy by Microsoft to slow down J2EE adoption, since Flash is being more and more closely tied with J2EE. Either way, it would be yet another independent software company that got swallowed by Microsoft. Maybe we should just define the software industry as Microsoft, and leave it at that.
