Music Misses An(other) Opportunity
from the and-so-it-goes dept
A Business 2.0 article (apparently) written prior to Hilary Rosen’s resignation is worth reading. The writer, Eric Hellweg, called up the RIAA to find out more details about Hilary Rosen’s comments about making ISPs pay for music downloads. The surprise is that the RIAA is now denying she ever said that. In fact, they’re saying she said the complete opposite, and that the music industry wouldn’t be interested in such a proposal. He then goes on to suggest that the “charge an ISP” plan isn’t such a bad one, and it’s too bad the music industry isn’t seriously looking into it.
