Eldred vs. Ashcroft Begins This Week

from the it's-everywhere dept

We’ve posted a bunch of stories about the Eldred vs. Ashcroft Supreme Court case in the past few weeks. However, the case actually begins this week, so there’s an even bigger flurry of activity on that front. Declan McCullough weighs in with his opinion on why he hopes the Supreme Court justices pay more attention to the importance of what’s written in the copyright clause of the Constitution, and the First Amendment itself. Steven Levy, over at Newsweek, has a well written article that explains what the case is all about. While the case won’t be decided for eight months or more, it could be a very important factor in the continuing (and misdirected) fight between Hollywood and Silicon Valley.
