Ten Technologies That May (Someday) Change Our Lives

from the keep-waiting dept

Roland Piquepaille writes “This is the time of the year when Technology Review publishes its forecasts about ten emerging technologies which will change our world some day. This year’s batch includes Bayesian machine learning, RNA interference or microfluidic optical fibers. But last year’s list included injectable tissue engineering or nanoimprint lithography, which didn’t really change the world in 2003. So read this list, which also includes universal translation, synthetic biology or personal genomics, with a grain of salt. You can read my blog to check this list and look at some short excerpts.” Seems to go well with yesterday’s vaporware awards. Definitely some interesting technologies to think about, though, whether or not they really end up changing anyone’s lives.
