Digital Farmers Find Websites Have Mixed Results

from the no-surprise-there.. dept

We’ve recently had a few articles talking about how an increasing number of farmers are going online. Now, here’s another article looking at these cyber-farmers, pointing out that some find the web to have been a huge boost for business, while others think it’s been a waste. Of course, this shouldn’t be at all surprising. Just like any other business, simply having a “website” doesn’t mean the answer to all your problems. It depends on how the website is set up and promoted. Certainly, not all farmers can employ their own full-time webmaster (or marketing staff…), but it appears that (like any other technology) the end results of using the technology comes down to how well it was implemented and how well it was designed to actually augment the current business.
