Not Using Google Is A Crime

In the past, we’ve talked about how “Google facts” have shown up in the courtroom, as lawyers try to use Google search engine results to try to prove a point (such as how many sites contained some kind of content). Now, however, it looks like some judges believe that Google is a core part of doing the required due diligence. In a recent court case where the plaintiff needed to find a missing defendant, but could not, the judge scolded the plaintiff, pointing out that a simple Google search turned up the missing person’s address, as well as other info that would help to find the guy.
