Parents Ignore Game Ratings For Kids
from the let-'em-play-what-they-want dept
As various efforts are underway to ban and blame video games, one new study suggests that the various “rating” systems on video games don’t really matter to most parents. It’s not that they don’t know about the ratings — but they ignore them, and believe their kids are mature enough to handle whatever is in the game. If anything, that seems to go against all of those stories out there lately about how everyone is overprotective of their kids these days. However, what it probably means, is that most parents realize that playing video games don’t seem likely to really cause any problems, despite what some would like you to believe.
