Google Names All Of Wall Street As Underwriters
from the just-in-case... dept
Well, everyone expected Google to get around to naming additional underwriters for their IPO beyond leads Morgan Stanley and CSFB, and now they’ve gone and named 29 other banks – including, interestingly, Goldman Sachs. Last month, after the IPO filing was made there was a series of stories saying Goldman had been cut from the IPO team for breaking the “rules” that Google’s co-founders had set up, and daring to make a pitch to Google’s VCs. While they may have lost the lead role, they are still a part of the overall syndicate. As expected also, WR Hambrecht, the Dutch auction specialist is on the list. The list is a fairly complete list of major Wall Street banks. Looks like no one wanted to be completely left out. Off the top of my head, I can’t seem to name a major bank that’s not on the list.
