Flash Mob + iPod = Mobile Club

from the wherever-you-want-to-go dept

Thought that whole flash mob fad had fizzled out as quickly as it had taken off (just like an actual flash mob)? Apparently, they’re still around, and they’re morphing into slightly different experiences. For example, over in London, they’ve taken the growth of personal music players, such as the iPod, and mixed it with the flash mob concept to create a mobile club. Basically, a bunch of stranger agree to show up in the same place (like a regular flash mob), but then they put on headphones and start dancing away to whatever portable music device and music they have. Of course, not everyone else in the locations seems to quite understand what’s happening. One person quoted in the article thought it was a way to advertise headphones.
