LinkedIn Links To A Business Model

from the aha! dept

It had to happen sooner or later. It appears that after months of saying to just wait and see what their business model will be, LinkedIn is moving forward with a Craigslist-style business model. That is, for the time being, all of the regular stuff via LinkedIn remains free, but it will cost money for employers to list job openings on the job network the site has been promoting recently. That certainly makes some sense — and clearly doesn’t drive away users the way a per-user fee would. It still remains to be seen, however, if this (and whatever other fees they eventually come up with) are enough to sustain the business.
