Someone who prefers to remain anonymous writes “We could yet talk to our dishwasher telepathically. Check out a story on BusinessWeek Online on the latest research into making interacting with computers and robots with thought possible. I thought it was interesting that more than half of scientific papers on this subject had been published in the past two years. This technology could, potentially, become commercially available in 5-10 years. There really isn’t much new in the article, but it’s a good summary piece of some of what’s going on, and why the space has been getting so much attention lately. It seems like the 5-10 year estimate may be quite aggressive, despite the advancements that are happening. There’s still a lot of work to be done, and much of it is going to be quite difficult.
