How Do You Spell Cap In Orwellian?
from the contention-ratio-based-broadband-platform-management dept
Broadband providers always like to play around with that whole concept of “unlimited.” Many claim to offer “unlimited” service, but then have fuzzy caps that suggest the service actually is quite limited. However, it appears that no one actually wants to use the term “cap,” so, as Broadband Reports points out, one ISP has renamed its “cap” as contention ratio-based broadband platform management, complete with a fairly impressive job of tap dancing around what this actually means in their FAQ on the cap contention ratio-based broadband platform management system.
