The Business Of Making Your Google Results Worse
from the leave-me-out... dept
While it’s well known that there are plenty of folks working on ways to boost rankings in Google, it turns out that the opposite is true as well. First, there’s the sort of confidential information that accidentally gets revealed online, which people don’t want Google to have. Usually that can be quickly removed from the index by letting Google know. However, others want to make sure that bad or embarrassing things aren’t the top results. The article even notes that one PR firm has a full-time search engine optimizer whose main job is to make sure bad stories about clients get pushed down in the rankings.

Interesting topic
Hi,
This is an interesting topic in the sense that most of us are trying to get a better page rank for our websites but at the same time there are people who want there webpages to have lower PR.
This is an angle that most of the webmasters will not think about. Ofcourse there are certain that you can do things to avoid a particular webpage to be not to be indexed by including a robot.txt in you web server.
Overall and interesting topic.
Thanks,
KD
