Analyst Plays Down VoIP Security Threat
from the insecurity dept
There’s been a lot of noise lately about the security risks of VoIP systems, spurred on by an alert — and a fix — from Cisco for a vulnerability in its enterprise VoIP systems. At least one analyst is telling people to calm down, saying the fears are largely unfounded. There’s little more to go on than the analyst’s word, but that’s not really any less than the justification for some of the more extreme warnings various people have issued. As the analyst points out, and others have backed up, IP telephony attacks are rare. They’ll likely grow as the technology becomes more popular, but it’s hardly the doomsday scenario some are presenting.

How is it any different than a spectrum analyzer.
You can listen even broadcast on whatever frequency they are on using cell or cordless. Some of this is a lil more technical than just the analyzer though if you had one it would work for analog.

If you want to listen in…just ask Dubya.
