Sendo Drops Orange Lawsuit

Back in June, Sendo launched a lawsuit against Orange for selling the SPV phone from HTC. This was really an extension of their highly publicized lawsuit against Microsoft, who Sendo claims stole their intellectual property and gave it to others (like HTC). Of course, you would think they should sue HTC, but HTC is in Taiwan, and Sendo’s patents only cover the UK. So, they sued Orange, and threatened to sue anyone else who dared to sell the SPV phone. This seemed a little backwards, and it appears that Orange’s lawyers have convinced Sendo of this fact. Sendo has now dropped the lawsuit against Orange. While the terms of the settlement are not discussed, they do mention that Sendo is paying for some of Orange’s legal costs – which suggests that Orange was the “winner” in this deal.
