Mobile Carrier Complaints Up

After number portability came about, it seemed like the mobile carriers were finally getting their act together on customer service — knowing that it would be easier than ever for customers to leave. Instead, however, complaints are up. Of course, there are a few reasons why this might be. The second largest number of complaints (after billing) has to do with number porting. So, while service may have improved in other areas, the complaints are (perhaps) being supplemented by complaints about number porting. Of course, the other (more sinister) explanation, is that the carriers have gotten good at locking in customers to long term contracts with huge exit fees… allowing them to drift back into their poor service habits.
