A Salesman Looks At The State Of WiFi

A traveling salesman from Germany traveling the US discusses the current state of WiFi. First, he knocks his “geeky friends” who tell him he should give up his WiFi for a cellular connection – to which he says it’s all too complicated, and he doesn’t want to end up looking like Batman with a belt full of gadgets. However, WiFi isn’t perfect either. He wants a real WiFi-enabled mobile phone, and can’t believe it hasn’t happened yet. Secondly, he hates the “walled garden” approach of most WiFi providers up to this point. He wants more “neutral hosts” to provide WiFi hotspots over every service. Of course, companies are moving towards both of these things – it might just take a little longer than this guy wants.
