Curators Rely On Cyberspace Excavation

We’ve already had stories about how NASA has used eBay to find spare parts for the shuttle program and how lawyers have been hunting down evidence on eBay. Now, it turns out that museum curators and people at historical societies have found out that eBay and other auction sites can be a treasure trove for their collections as well. The curators are thrilled, because they’re finding plenty of stuff they wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Anyway, it’s yet another story with free press for eBay.
