Do A Somersault — Now!
from the the-market-these-days dept
An amusing, but true, column by James Cramer at TheStreet.com. He describes the state of the current market for tech stocks as like a diving competition where the judges yell “do a somersault — now!” after the diver has left the platform – since companies were told to spend and spend and not worry about profits, and suddenly it’s “show us profits — now!”. He also points out how this puts some private companies in a lot better position than many public companies. Though, it also means that if things turn around, many public companies will be able to buy back large chunks of their own stock very cheaply.
