Eisner Loses Disney Chair

from the replaced-by-Mickey-Mouse? dept

The latest struggle in the boardroom at Disney suggests that Michael Eisner (once considered a “could do no wrong” exec) is in serious trouble there. Just hours after 43% of shareholders voted against Eisner remaining as CEO (even though he ran unopposed) the Board of Directors has stripped him of his chairman title, though he remains CEO. In many similar situations, it doesn’t take long for the executive to finally realize he’s unwanted and leave, so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to find out Eisner is resigning shortly.
