Envelope Stuffing Spam Operation Shut Down

from the take-that dept

If you get enough spam, you’ve certainly seen one of those “work from home” spam messages. Now, a court has shut down one of those operations, showing just how much of a scam it was. Basically, as you would expect, the “work from home operation” involved “buying” a startup kit, that simply involved instructions to (you guessed it) spam others to try to sell them on the same deal. Then, just to make things even better, they would charge people again a month later. The company in question then refused any refund requests. On top of all that, they also violated the CAN SPAM law with misleading headlines and spoofed return addresses.
