FM on your Mobile?
from the umm-yeah-hang-on-I've-got-a-lot-of-voicemail dept
XSVoice has launched a new service that allows subcribers to listen to streaming audio programming via their mobiles phones. For $5.95 a month subscribers have access to over 100 content providers. Users browse a WAP menu, choose programming and when the click on their choice their phone dials the telephone number for the stream. Regular airtime charges apply to the call. This might be useful for news and sports, but I can’t imagine listening to music like this. Mobile phones still sound like mobile phones regardless of if it’s your girlfriend on the line or the new Britney Spears hit.

It might sound ok on a phone designed to support headphones with an inline mic, but I believe most phones today are equipped with a jack for mono sound.

Hmm, okay idea, I can’t wait until the first guy amasses 100’s of dollars of roaming charges listening to music though! My new v60c has an optional FM headset accesory, not airtime minutes there, I think I’d just stick with that if I really wanted radio on my phone. Which I don’t
