Haggleware

from the companies-that-love-hassles dept

Firedup.com has decided to allow customers to haggle for their goods, a tradition taken from middle eastern markets. If you’ve ever tried haggling, you’ll realise how annoying it can become after a while. Novelty value is one thing but wasting your time haggling with an electronic merchant is a totally different story.

Not really a middle eastern tradition

Haggling is not really a foreign concept. I wasn’t until the turn of the century that American’s started setting non-negotiable prices. I believe it was a Woolworth five&dime store in Pa. that started it. Before then, Haggling was the way to determine the price of something.

Re: Haggling

there was IP litigation. yes our patent was amusing. yet if you understand what we actually created (WE, NOT being not netmarket/cendant but the inventors/developers of a genuine negotiation engine tecnology) the patent did not accurately represent what we actually created. good for me as i still imagine genuine (not silly consumer commerce) applications of the real technology.

I would very much appreciate it if the inventor of this would contact me as I have first hand experience as an innovator and live version of Chester from 1995 having opened a haggling concept on Oxford Street England called Make us an Offer!
I look forward to your earliest contact please.
